RATINGS: (from 1=poor through 10=excelent)

Category 1: Initial Impression Performance Level = 9
Comments: First impression is one of good quality and attractiveness.

Category 2 : Fit/Comfort Performance Level = 9
Comments: Shoulder straps were wide enough and sternum & waist straps were well placed for comfortable fit. During downhill biking, it did not ride up and knock my helmet forward. My longest ride was 3.5 hours without discomfort.

Category 3: Capacity performance level = 8
Comments: 70oz is a good capacity for many applications. Will be too small for extended warm weather rides.

Category 4: Drinking valve performance level = 9
Comments: easy to bite. Lots of flow capacity. Never leaked.

Category 5: Features performance level = 8
Comments: Pretty basic (as it should be for a cycle pack). The pump holder is a great feature. More pockets/storage would be nice for hiking.

Category 6: Materials, Hardware and construction performance level = 9
Comments: Very sturdy, yet lightweight. The bladder is quite strong. I took a pretty hard fall, landing on my back. The bladder didn't rupture, & it cushioned the fall. The drink tube had better resistance to freezing than other systems.

Category 7: Over performance performance level = 9
Comments: I was very happy with the comfort, appearance, and functionality of the system.

Question 1: Would you buy/recommend?
Very definitely.

Question 2: How does the system compare to others?
I have used Camelbak classic, Ultimate 'crank 'n tanks', and Bell (waistpack)
The fill cap (friction close) on the Camelbak eventually leaked. The Ultimate's roll up closure on the bladder is very easy to clean, but is not 100% watertight. The Bell is lower quality in all respects. The cycopac did not require cleaning other than rinsing. Sport drinks did not leave a residual taste. I liked the fill & carry handles on the cycopac.

Question 3: Describe how you tested.
I used the pack on road & Mt. bikes, roller blades, hiking, XC skiing, spinning and running. I primarily used water, with occasional sports drinks. Weather varied from indoor spinning to sub zero outside. Gear carried was limited to pump, change, cell phone, & a shell

Additional comments:
This would be a great seller at $50. -
